Therapy

Together we will craft a therapeutic journey that supports your aims and honors the organic nature of your change process

Like all living ecosystems, you are dynamic and ever-changing. You are always in the process of becoming.

I approach the art and science of therapy as a sacred undertaking. This work is inherently creative, and together, we co-create your journey towards a more harmonious and attuned way of being. My style of therapy is a balance of structured, planned engagement and intuitive processes. My approach is more present tense, goal-oriented, and “active.”

Based on your needs, we will access your innate wisdom and build new skills through various modes of expression and multiple levels of consciousness: rational, emotional, creative, meditative, and sensory—the therapeutic process is multidimensional, touching on many layers of your embodied reality.

intutitive & sensory

Regardless of the therapeutic framework we use, I approach therapy with a somatic and trauma-informed lens, recognizing that healing and distress extend beyond the mind to affect the whole body. My years of study in Buddhism and yogic philosophy also influence how I understand consciousness and human potential for transformation.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT)

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Self-Compassion Therapy

I also draw from a broad range of practices to support our discussions, including mindfulness, breath work, movement, drawing, psychoeducation, body scanning, writing, and visualization.

Influences include trauma research, neurobiology, yogic psychology and philosophy, Buddhist psychology and philosophy, spirituality, and Transpersonal psychology.

Modalities

The Process

  • Phase 1: Grounding

In the initial sessions, I prioritize understanding your story, current challenges, and treatment goals. Together, we'll create a safe space, ensuring clarity around my legal mandates, your therapeutic expectations, and preferred communication methods.

  • Phase 2: Shaping

In this phase, we begin to refine your therapy treatment plan in greater detail, exploring various options and incorporating science and creativity into your personalized approach.

  • This phase is the heart of our work together. We will actively engage with the therapeutic program we've crafted, assessing progress as you explore applications of therapy both in-session and at home. To support lasting change and real-world application, you will be given "therapy homework" to reinforce key concepts and practices.

  • While we'll consistently monitor the effects of therapy, every few weeks we'll revisit your treatment goals and progress to "check in" and ensure we're on track. This allows us to assess if any adjustments are needed in our approach. It's also important to monitor the long term sustainability of the changes you have made.

  • Once your treatment goals have been achieved and are stable, we can begin discussing what the conclusion of therapy will look like and determine when you feel it's the right time to end our work together.

Treatment Specialties

  • Anxiety is a natural part of being human — a built-in alarm system designed to protect us. When we sense danger, our nervous system activates the "fight-or-flight" response, preparing the body to react quickly. Heart rate increases, muscles tense, and focus narrows — all to keep us safe. In short bursts, this response is adaptive. But when it becomes constant or triggered by everyday situations, it can leave the body and mind in a state of chronic stress.

You may find yourself avoiding situations that feel overwhelming, overanalyzing every decision, or feeling like you're never fully at ease. Therapy offers a place to pause and listen to what your body and mind are trying to say. As we build safety and awareness together, we begin to re-engage the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of your nervous system responsible for rest, digestion, and recovery.

  • Conflict and communication issues are common sources of emotional strain and relational tension. Whether it’s difficulty expressing needs, shutting down during disagreements, or feeling unheard and misunderstood, these patterns often stem from deeper fears—fear of rejection, of vulnerability, or of not being good enough. Over time, unresolved conflicts and ineffective communication can lead to resentment, disconnection, and a sense of loneliness even in close relationships. The result is often a cycle of frustration, where attempts to connect may unintentionally push others away.

Therapy offers a space to slow down and explore the patterns that keep these dynamics in place. Together, we work to uncover the beliefs and emotions that underlie your communication style and learn new ways of expressing yourself that foster connection rather than conflict. As we strengthen awareness and practice new tools in a safe environment, you can begin to experience more clarity, confidence, and calm — not just in what you say, but in how you're heard and how you listen.

  • Life transitions — whether planned or unexpected — can bring a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and grief. Starting a new job, ending a relationship, becoming a parent, or simply aging into a new phase of life can disrupt your sense of identity and stability. Even positive changes can stir up anxiety as familiar routines shift and new roles emerge. You might feel lost between what was and what's next, unsure of how to move forward or who you are in this new chapter.

Therapy offers a steady presence during times of change. In our work together, we create space to honor what’s ending, navigate what’s unfolding, and build resilience for what lies ahead. By helping you reconnect with your values, strengths, and inner wisdom, therapy can support you in finding meaning and direction amidst the uncertainty. With time, transitions can become not just something to survive, but an opportunity to grow more fully into yourself.

  • Questions around spirituality and religion can be deeply personal and, at times, profoundly disorienting. You may be wrestling with beliefs that once felt grounding but now feel restrictive or harmful. Perhaps you're navigating religious trauma, feeling shame or fear tied to past teachings, or searching for a sense of connection after stepping away from a faith tradition. These struggles can lead to isolation, identity confusion, or a loss of meaning — especially when spiritual language was once central to how you understood yourself and the world.

Therapy offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to explore your spiritual story. Together, we can unpack painful experiences, question inherited beliefs, and support your search for authenticity and belonging — whether that includes reclaiming a faith, redefining spirituality on your own terms, or simply healing from what you've endured. Our work can help you move from confusion or hurt toward clarity, agency, and a more grounded relationship with yourself and whatever feels sacred or meaningful to you.

  • Complex chronic trauma and PTSD often stem from repeated or long-term experiences that overwhelmed your ability to cope — such as childhood neglect, abuse, or ongoing unsafe relationships. These experiences can leave lasting imprints on the nervous system, affecting how you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. You may feel constantly on edge, disconnected from your body, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or unsure why certain situations trigger intense emotional reactions.

In therapy, healing doesn’t mean “getting over” what happened — it means learning how to live with more safety, choice, and connection. Our work focuses on building trust with your nervous system, gently unwinding survival patterns, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that may have felt lost or buried. Through a trauma-informed, compassionate approach, we create space for integration — not just of memories, but of strength, dignity, and self-understanding. Over time, therapy can help you move from just surviving to a deeper sense of wholeness.

  • Depression can feel like a heavy fog that settles over every part of life — making it hard to find motivation, connect with others, or even recognize yourself. You might feel numb, exhausted, or weighed down by a persistent sense of hopelessness or self-criticism. Things that once brought joy may now feel distant or meaningless. These feelings aren’t a sign of weakness — they are often the mind and body’s way of signaling that something deeper needs care and attention.

Therapy provides a space to gently explore what depression is trying to tell you. Together, we work to understand the patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to your pain, while also reconnecting you with parts of life that feel nourishing and alive. Through compassionate support and practical tools, we aim to ease the heaviness and create space for curiosity, connection, and hope. Healing doesn’t always happen all at once — but step by step, it becomes possible to feel more like yourself again.

  • Struggles with self-esteem often show up as a harsh inner critic, chronic self-doubt, or a persistent feeling of not being “enough.” You may find yourself constantly comparing, second-guessing your worth, or seeking external validation to feel okay. Over time, these patterns can shape how you show up in relationships, take risks, or pursue what matters to you — sometimes leading to a life that feels smaller than the one you truly want.

Therapy offers a supportive space to understand where these beliefs came from and how they’ve taken root. Together, we explore your story with compassion, challenge the inner narratives that no longer serve you, and begin to build a more grounded sense of self. Rather than striving to “fix” yourself, our work focuses on helping you see your inherent worth more clearly — so you can move through the world with more confidence, self-trust, and authenticity.

  • Stress and burnout can build slowly, often unnoticed until you're running on empty. You may feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or like you're constantly in survival mode — juggling too many responsibilities with little time to rest. Over time, even the things you once cared about may feel like burdens, and your body might show signs too: tension, sleep issues, or a sense of being stuck in overdrive. Burnout isn’t just about doing too much — it’s about not having enough space to replenish, reflect, or feel supported.

In therapy, we create a space to pause, breathe, and listen to what your stress is telling you. Together, we’ll explore the deeper patterns behind your exhaustion — whether they come from perfectionism, people-pleasing, or long-standing beliefs about your worth. Therapy can help you set healthier boundaries, reconnect with what truly matters, and begin to restore balance. With time and care, you can shift from just getting through the day to feeling more present, purposeful, and alive.

  • Couples often seek therapy when patterns of disconnection, conflict, or betrayal begin to erode the foundation of their relationship. Infidelity, communication breakdowns, or struggles with trust can create deep emotional wounds — leading to cycles of blame, withdrawal, or resentment. Even if love is still present, partners may find themselves stuck, unable to bridge the growing emotional distance or repair past hurts on their own.

Couples therapy provides a space to slow down and truly hear one another, often for the first time in a long while. Together, we work to understand the underlying needs and emotions that drive conflict, rebuild trust where it’s been broken, and develop healthier ways of relating. Whether you're working to heal after infidelity, strengthen communication, or reconnect emotionally, therapy offers tools and support to help you move forward — not just as individuals, but as a team with renewed clarity, compassion, and intention.
